The following is a simple set of instructions and pictures for installing the Universal Vista Cruise throttle lock device on the Ninja 250. If you happen to encounter problems with this device, contact me or post a message on the Ninja 250 Riders Club Forum. I have only applied this device to the EX250-F. If this procedure also applies to any of the other models of the Ninja 250, please let me know!

Begin by making room on your right handlebar for the throttle lock. Select the appropriately-sized allen wrench and loosen the two bolts holding the brake lever/reservoir assembly in place, as shown in the first picture below. You can leave the brake lever/reservoir loose for now. Once you have loosened this assmbly, you should have room between the throttle assembly and brake assembly as shown in the second picture below.

The first part of the throttle lock device will clamp to your handlebar in the newly-made space. Construct the first part of the device and mount it to the bike as shown below. Use a ratchet and 10mm socket or a 10mm wrench for the bolt and the appropriately-sized allen wrench for the two allen screws.

Construct the second part of the device - the ring - and install it on your throttle grip as shown below. If you have the stock Ninja 250 throttle grip, you will need to use the thicker of the two rubber strips. When new, you will need to trim off a portion of the rubber strip. Consult your Universal Vista Cruise instructions for a diagram of this. Reference the pictures below and slide the ring over your grip before installing the rubber strip. When you install the rubber strip, be sure that the ends of the strip are centered between two of the three small set screws on the outside of the ring. This will prevent one of those set screws from being tightened down at the end of the rubber strip, which would render it useless. For larger detail, click on the third picture shown below.

To adjust the throttle lock, tighten the three set screws on the outer ring with the appropriately-sized allen wrench. When the thumb lever is activated (snapped down into place), the set screws should properly compress the rubber strip such that it holds your throttle in place. When the thumb lever is released (snapped back up), the set screws should allow the throttle to freely move under its own spring force. It may take one or two rides for you to fully adjust these screws to your liking.

The final positions are shown below. The first picture is with the throttle lock off and the second picture shows the throttle lock on.
