As coincidence would have it, the 1979 Chrysler LeBaron (Straight 6) arrived at around the same time the head gasket blew on my Laser. With the passing of my grandfather Rogers in January of 2000, the family was left with his longtime family car, the 1979 LeBaron from Cleveland, Ohio. With the house and financial issues left behind from my grandfather's estate, it was agreed that I could try and make some use out of the LeBaron. Simply put, no one else wanted to deal with it! As my neighbor and I worked to replace the blown head gasket on the Laser, the LeBaron proved to be reliable wheels to and from school and work. After repairing the Laser, I spent some time fixing some minor details on the LeBaron. But for the most part, my grandfather was very meticulous when it came to taking care of the car. It ran 10 times better than my Laser, despite having more miles on it (125,000). It also had great interior and under-the-hood cleanliness. Not wanting to rely a gas-guzzling '79 LeBaron for daily transportation, the LeBaron was sold for about $1000 right around the time I sold the Laser (May 2000).
